Born in the womb of wisdom in a rustic village in Gujarat, India on 13th November, 1922, Shri Makarand Dave was lifted up to a higher plane of consciousness by the tender age of 7 . Composing poems by the age of 10, Shri Makarand Dave cultivated a warm reception in the hearts of his countrymen and of fellow Gujarati speakers for half a century. In his youth, he jumped to liberate India from oppression during the freedom movement of 1942. Besides being a poet, he has also worked as a freelance news journalist. Recognized internationally, he has written over 50 books throughout his lifetime.

Currently residing in Nandigram with his wife, Isha Kundanika, a renowned writer and editor. Shri Makarand Dave continues to have meditative sadhana with students and fellow scholars while serving the tribal people in that region. Shri Makarand Dave writes for the universal growth and spiritual evolution of mankind.
